SCN | Network Security Manager

About the Role

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our online community. Your responsibilities include safeguarding our server against potential threats, maintaining a secure environment for our members, and responding to security incidents promptly. This role is essential for protecting the integrity of our community and upholding our standards of safety and trust.

Key Responsibilities:

• Security Monitoring:

  • Continuously monitor server activity for signs of suspicious behavior or security threats.

  • Implement and manage security tools and bots to detect and mitigate potential risks.

• Threat Management:

  • Stay informed about past and current threats affecting Discord communities.

  • Develop and enforce security protocols to protect against common and emerging threats.

• Incident Response:

  • Respond quickly to security incidents, including breaches, attacks, or suspicious activities.

  • Investigate incidents thoroughly, documenting findings and taking appropriate corrective actions.

• Policy Development:

  • Develop and update security policies and procedures to address new threats and maintain best practices.

  • Ensure that all server security measures align with community standards and guidelines.

• Training and Awareness:

  • Educate and train server staff and members on security best practices and awareness.

  • Provide guidance on safe usage of Discord features and address security-related questions or concerns.

• Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other team members, including moderators and admins, to ensure a cohesive approach to security.

  • Coordinate with external security experts or resources as needed.

• Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of security incidents, responses, and actions taken.

  • Provide regular reports to server leadership on the security status and any emerging threats.
